Workshops for Sport

As well as being a great form of exercise in its own right, Pilates is widely recognised as a beneficial training regime for many other sports.
At heart, Pilates focuses on bringing the body back into balance, improving alignment, flexibility and core strength.

If you want to learn how to make the best of your body in your chosen sport, come along to a Core 34 Pilates Workshop. Each workshop is uniquely tailored to your sport - no general advice or moves, just specialist knowledge that will help you improve. All the techniques, exercises and knowledge are tailored to helping you achieve the best in your chosen sport.

Our workshops are also ideal as an introduction to the power of Pilates to rehabilitate and recover from injury. Although we'd always recommend one of our 1-2-1 Clinical workshops if you're suffering from a specific injury, these workshops will still give you useful ideas - and better still, help you prevent the injury from occurring again!

Running

The repetitive movements inherent in running can really highlight weaknesses or imbalances in your body. Whether it's runner's knee, planar fasciitis or ITB syndrome, runners are at risk of serious injury.

Pilates is the ideal way to build core strength, increase your flexibility and coordination, for better posture, balance and injury-free running

Cycling

Cycling puts inevitably puts repetitive strain on the knees - we increase the flexibility and strength of the surrounding muscles, to reduce the risk of injury.

We also focus on the back - what might be an ideal aerodynamic riding position can lead to problems with the discs and also shoulder pain.

Our Pilates for cyclists workshop teaches you stretches and exercises to use post-ride to help restore your body's natural balance.

Golf

Do you want a more powerful swing - with better control? Or to be free of back and shoulder pain so you can enjoy the 19th hole properly?

Pilates strengthens the core and aligns the body, giving you more power, more fluid movement, and less pain.

Our Pilates for Golf Workshop helps re-balance the body, develops the muscle groups golfers most need, and improves core stability.

Skiing

Good skiing technique is about more than strong legs!

Flexibility in the torso is key to better turns and fewer back injuries. By strengthening key muscles, the risk of knee injuries is reduced, and with improved balance comes smoother and more effortless skiing.

In our Pilates for Skiing Workshop we also develop core strength and mobility of all of the muscle groups you need to enjoy every day on the piste.
