The following terms and conditions apply to all studio and online Pilates and fitball classes with Core 34 Pilates. By participating in one of these classes, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Failure to abide by these conditions may result in you being refused admittance to classes.
All bookings are only confirmed once we have received payment from you. Once booked, classes cannot be transferred to another person, nor can they be cancelled. However, please see our policies on catch-up classes and videos below.
Core 34 Pilates offers two choices for booking: “Pay As You Go” or “Block Booking”.
You must book and pay for each class separately. Core 34 Pilates prides itself on its small group ethos, and consequently pay as you go places are subject to available space in the class, on a first-come-first-served basis.
With Pay As You Go, you only pay for the classes you book, and if you need to skip a week you can do so without penalty, provided you have not already booked that week.
Once you have booked a Pay As You Go class, it cannot be cancelled. However, at the instructor's discretion (and subject to availability) it may be possible to transfer your booking to another class.
You are paying for a contiguous block of six lessons over one six week block. It is not a "carnet" style system to dip into as desired. If you cannot make a class one week, that week is forfeit and the six week block is not extended. However, see also the policy on catch-ups below.
Block Booking is available for both online classes and studio classes.
Core 34 Pilates understand that on occasion it may not be possible to attend a class. We offer a the following catch-up policies to help you keep up your Pilates practice in these circumstances.
It may be possible for you to attend another class in the same week as the class you are unable to attend, subject to space. If you would like to take advantage of this option, please contact your instructor as soon as possible to discuss this. Please note that it may not always be possible to accommodate a catch-up due to the limited capacity in the studio.
A recording of the class you missed can be made available in the 1 week period between the end of the class you missed and the start of the next class in the series.. This must be requested in advance of the class you are unable to attend - not all classes are recorded, so unless you give notice, your class may not be recorded.
Some online classes are recorded to be shared with other members of the same class (i.e. the people who would normally have been present in the class anyway) to facilitate our Catch-Up policy. The recordings are deleted after one week, and are not used for any other purpose. By attending an online class, you consent to recording for this purpose.
Core 34 Pilates runs classes for a range of abilities. Within each class exercises are offered for a range of abilities, and the instructor will always take into account the individual needs of every client. However, if in the judgement of the instructor you are unable to participate in the class safely, you may be required to move to a class at a different level.
Before starting classes with Core 34 Pilates you will asked to complete a health questionnaire. You must disclose any pre-existing conditions and issue to your instructor so that they can ensure all exercises are safe and suitable for you. This information will be kept confidential and used only for the purpose of providing safe Pilates instruction to you. If you have any concerns at any time, you must speak with your instructor as soon as possible.
Most importantly, at any time, if something hurts or feels wrong - STOP! You will never be pressured to complete any exercise, nor will you be asked to explain why you have stopped in front of the class. Core 34 Pilates is a safe and encouraging space for everyone. You are welcome to discuss any health concern with your instructor in confidence.
You must tell your instructor as soon as you know or suspect that you are pregnant. While Pilates can be practised safely during pregnancy, there are significant restrictions on what can be done, which vary by trimester. Consequently, you may be asked to transfer to one of Core 34 Pilates specialist "Pilates in Pregnancy" classes to ensure that all of the content in the class is safe and suitable for you.
Once booked, Core 34 Pilates classes cannot be cancelled. However, under some circumstances classes can be rebooked or moved, subject to our catch-up policy (see above).
Core 34 Pilates will always strive to provide an instructor for scheduled classes in the event your regular instructor is unavailable. However, on rare occasions this may not be possible.
If it is not possible to run a class, either due to the unavailability of an instructor, or due to technical failures (e.g. power cut, loss of service from the online teaching platform, etc.):
Core 34 Pilates will inform all clients as soon as practical if a class cannot go ahead. A change of instructor does not give grounds for refund or cancellation.
In the event that class numbers fall below the number needed to make a class viable to run, Core 34 Pilates will offer you your choice of transferring to another class, or a pro-rata refund for any classes which are cancelled.
Studio classes will take place in-person where possible in accordance with the government guidelines, rules and restrictions in place at the time of the class. In the event that a studio class cannot take place in-person due to lockdowns or other restriction, the class will be converted to an online session running at the same time as the original class and your booking automatically transferred. Teaching will revert to in-person as soon as is possible under the restrictions in force. In the event of a transfer to online teaching, the catch-up policy for online classes will apply.
You are responsible for providing all equipment necessary to participate in online classes. Most important of these is a Pilates mat. Other useful equipment includes head blocks, chi balls and Stott balls, although common domestic items can often be used as substitutes. Your instructor will discuss equipment for the specific course you enroll on.
For studio classes you are encouraged to bring all of the equipment necessary for the class with you in order to minimise the risk of Covid transmission. Equipment is available for you to borrow in the studio if needed, with the exception of head blocks. If you do not have a head block, please bring a rolled up towel instead.
